What's New...Happy New Year!
1/1/2007: Happy New Year to you all! Updates have been sparse. This has been a busy year. And I get lazy when it comes to the webpage.
I really don't have any excuse.
I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday season and all the best in the coming year!
Take care and I will talk to you all soon!
What's New...new job, upcoming trip to Newfoundland, Rollergirls...!
6/8/2006: Wow, what a long time between updates. This is unheard of. I just don't seem to get much time to do computer things any more.
I started a new job in February, finally. I had wanted to get away from my old job for a long time. I was so stressed out so much of the time and it just wasn't healthy. I am working with some people from my old job. It was difficult to adjust at first but so far, things are going well.
We found out that we will be traveling back to Newfoundland at the end of June so I am really looking forward to that. I haven't met my youngest niece, Lauren, yet. She is 2 but we haven't been home in over 3 years. The last time we visited, her older brother, Joshua, was not even 2. He is 4 now and I spoke to him on the phone the other day and he is so funny. My older niece and nephew, Jessica and Matthew, are both teenagers now so they probably barely remember me! But if they still love to read, we will spend some time at the book store with them again during our visit! :)
Rollergirls...yes I did say Rollergirls. I have fond memories of going to see the Roller Derby as a kid. We have recently had the opportunity to see the Lonestar Rollergirls here in Austin. We took in the last three matches of the season, including the championship. These ladies sure know how to work hard but they are having such a good time doing it that they make it look easy. The reason we finally got around to seeing the show was because they used a couple of John's fonts in their ads. When John asked, they offered some free tickets. We jumped at the chance (John had visited the other Austin league, the Texas Rollergirls, last year but I didn't get to go and they are located much further from where we live)! It was so much fun. John will have to make some new font or another to help them with next year's ads, I figure! :)
I am sure that a million other things have happened between then and now but I cannot recall anything else that needs to be here.
Take care and I will talk to you all soon!
